KINDERGARTEN NEWS
We have finished all of the letters and sounds! Now in Phonics we will concentrate on learning about digraphs, combinations and blends. This week we will learn about digraph ck as in duck. We will have Show & Tell on Friday, April 30th. Children will bring home bags on Monday and can bring in any item or picture that is something with digraph ck in it.
In Math we will learn all about addition. Expect to hear words such as plus, sum, all together, in all equal. Any practice you can do at home will reinforce what your child has learned in school.
In Reading we will be continuing with "Goldilocks and the Three Bears." We will review the /g/ and talk about the comprehension skill, character. We will continue to talk and write about adventures. Adventures they have already taken and adventures they would like to take in the future.
We need to keep practicing writing numbers, complete names, telephone numbers and home addresses. We will also review the letters we have already learned to write.
This week we will have a special program on "Personal Body Safety." The presenter is Mrs. Clarissa Geary (her son Kelin is here in Kdg.). the program will be Wednesday morning, April 28th.
Monday is Day 1 so be sure to wear your sneakers!!
